Andrew Williamson

Head of Core & IMS Strategic Marketing, Ericsson AB

Following completion of his BSC at Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, Andrew Williamson joined Standard Telephones and Cables plc in 1983 and has worked within the telecoms industry ever since. After joining Ericsson in 1994, Mr. Williamson became Sales Director for one of Ericsson’s largest UK accounts. Since moving to Ericsson’s HQ in Sweden in 2000, Mr Williamson has worked in strategic marketing and product management for Ericsson’s Networks business. Since 2007, he has been responsible for Strategic Marketing of the Core Network and IMS portfolio.

Christian Daigneault

Chief Technology Officer, CSL Limited

He has a strong telecommunications background with more than 20 years experience in the wireless mobile industry. At CSL, Mr. Daigneault has orchestrated a full network transformation and brought the first All-IP HSPA+ 21 Mbps network in the world, ready for LTE integration.  Christian holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada) and he is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology.

Garth Collier

Managing Director of Asia Pacific/Japan - WiMAX, Intel Corporation

Garth Collier is Managing Director of Asia Pacific/Japan – WiMAX, at Intel Corporation. He leads a dedicated team tasked with driving the adoption of 4G mobile WiMAX networks and services across southeast Asia, South Asia and Japan.

Most recently, Garth was a driving force behind the creation of UQ Communications that is rapidly reshaping the mobile Internet industry in Japan.

Prior to joining Intel, Garth spent five years with PCCW where most recently he was Executive Director of UK Broadband. Garth has a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from the University of Queensland and a MBA from The Australian Graduate School of Management.

Jai Rajaraman

Senior Director, Asia, GSMA

Jaikishan Rajaraman is currently Senior Director of the Services Review Group, the operator body tasked with establishing commercial and service interworking guidelines within the GSMA. He has more than eight years’ experience in mobile product development and management, specializing in roaming and inter-working solutions.

Mr. Rajaraman is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), the industry body that drives services standardization for mobile telecommunications. He assists in the driving of services and technology strategy within the Asia-Pacific region for the GSMA, a role that he fulfils from his base in Singapore.

Mr. Rajaraman holds an Honors degree in Telecommunications Engineering and has completed his Masters degree in Financial Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Kelvin Lee

Senior General Manager, Green Packet Berhad

Kelvin Lee has been instrumental in transforming Green Packet Berhad from a start-up to a world-class developer of next generation mobile broadband and networking solutions. He oversees his division’s operations, sales and marketing, product development, engineering and business development functions across SEA, Oceania, Greater China, Europe, Middle East and Indian sub-continent, is charting its next phase of sustainable growth with geographical diversification through market development in North America and Africa.

Kelvin has a BS from both Flinders University and University of Adelaide, Australia.

Lior Mishan

Director, Strategic Corporate Marketing (Asia WiMAX Business Development), Alvarion Ltd.

Lior Mishan has worked for Alvarion for over four years in marketing and product management. His current responsibility is regional marketing for  the Asia Pacific region, where he focuses on WiMAX opportunities and go to market activities. Mr. Mishan has been in the telecommunications industry for over 12 years, working in marketing and R&D positions in various communications fields including wireless broadband, xDSL and metro Ethernet transport. 

Aditya Kaul

Principal Analyst and Practice Director, Mobile Networks, ABI Research

Aditya Kaul concentrates his research activities at ABI Research on the changing nature of mobile network infrastructure including in-building wireless systems such as femtocells, picocells, distributed antenna systems, and repeaters; software-defined radio; clean telecoms, and the general wireless infrastructure technology marketplace.

Prior to joining ABI Research, Aditya served as Senior Analyst, Emerging Wireless Technologies at Pioneer Consulting in the UK
 
Aditya has two Masters degrees in Engineering, the first in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, and the second in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Jake Saunders

Vice President of Forecasting, ABI Research

Based in Singapore, Jake Saunders is Vice President of Forecasting and heads ABI Research’s Asia-Pacific division. He devotes particular attention to all China-related topics, as well as handsets, Mobile Network Operators, MVNOs, and wireless operators Vodafone, Hutchison and 3.

Jake covers a variety of issues in the wireless connectivity, mobile broadband and satellite marketplaces, and is a leading expert on the rapidly changing mobile cellular operator landscape in Asia and Europe. Prior to joining ABI Research, he was a Research Director at UK-based Concise Insight. Saunders holds a Masters of Science in Technology Management from the University of Manchester.

Philip Solis

Practice Director, Wireless Connectivity, ABI Research

As head of ABI Research’s Wireless Connectivity research practice, Philip Solis is responsible for ABI Research’s Wi-Fi and short-range wireless research and 4G Research Service, which covers the 4G market across chipsets, devices, network infrastructure, and subscribers.

Prior to joining ABI Research, Phil worked as a Sales Engineer in the Enterprise Solutions Group of Verizon Communications.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and has an MBA with a dual concentration in Marketing and Information Systems from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.

Stuart Carlaw

Chief Research Officer, ABI Research

As Chief Research Officer, Stuart Carlaw leads ABI Research’s analyst teams covering global connectivity markets.  Stuart’s primary responsibility is the management of industry research content, and he also regularly interfaces with clients and the media.  

Prior to joining ABI Research, Stuart was a Telecommunications Technician in the British Army, and then Senior Analyst and later Wireless Research Director at IMS Research. At IMS he was the primary Bluetooth analyst, and responsible for all short range wireless research.

Stuart earned a B.Sc (Honours) in Physical Sciences and Business Management from De Montfort University.

Alan Solheim

Vice-President of Business Development & Strategic Marketing, DragonWave Inc.

With more than 25 years of industry experience in telecommunications, Alan heads up Business Development and Strategic Marketing for DragonWave, with a strong emphasis upon the development of overall value proposition to its different customers and partners. Previously Alan was VP of Product Management where he was responsible for the introduction of DragonWave’s award winning Horizon packet microwave product line.

Alan is the principal or co-author of more than 50 patents.

He also  writes a bi-monthly column “The Middle Mile” for Internet Telephony, and has numerous papers in industry journals such as European Communications, Mobile Europe and Converge Digest.  Alan has acted on a variety of industry and conference committees such as 4G World, IWPC, CTIA, WCA, GITEX and numerous webinars.

Anne Leonardo

Director for Digital Media, All Youth Channels, Inc., MTV Philippines, U92

Anne Leonardo is no stranger to the world of digital media. For the last four years she has been the All Youth Channels - MTV Philippines Digital Media Director.  Prior to that she was with Ericsson Telecommunications and Sony Ericsson Mobile where she handled product development. With her extensive knowledge of digital media, online, mobile and content management, Anne not only has the technical knowhow which comes with years of experience, but also a very broad insight on mobility today.

Anne holds a BSBA in Quantitative Economics from the University of Asia and Pacific, Philippines, and an MA in Design from Central St. Martins School of Design in London.

Anthony Ambrose

VP and General Manager of Communications Networks, RadiSys

Anthony Ambrose is the Vice President and General Manager of Communications Networks at RadiSys. Mr. Ambrose joined RadiSys in 2007. Previously, he was Intel’s General Manager of the Modular Communications Platform Division in the Communications Infrastructure Group. In this role, his organization had the responsibility for servers, blades, boards and software for the telecommunications industry and he led Intel’s ATCA efforts. While Mr. Ambrose held the Director of Product Marketing position in the Enterprise Server Group at Intel, he developed the strategies for standard high volume server products, leading to a $1 billion business. He holds a B.S in Engineering from Princeton University.

Dr. Ray Owen

Head of Technical Marketing & Pre-Sales, Networks, Enterprise Mobility Solutions & Networks, Motorola Asia Pacific

Dr. Ray Owen is Head of Technical Marketing and Pre-Sales for Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility business in Asia Pacific, and General Director of Motorola Vietnam.

Based in Singapore, Dr. Owen develops CTO level relationships with major governments, enterprises and carrier network customers across the region. He has been with Motorola for 14 years and has held numerous management positions within the company.

He has published 19 papers and developed 32 patents, one of which won him an award for Motorola’s Patent Application of the Year in 1999. 

Dr. Owen has a PhD in Engineering from University of Birmingham.

Dr. Shahram G. Niri

Director of Global LTE/SAE Strategy & Solution, NEC Europe

Dr Shahram G Niri is an expert in telecommunications with more than 18 years of experience in the fields of mobile communication technology, mobile services and applications, and computer networking. He obtained a PhD in mobile communications in 1999 and an MSc in Telecommunication with distinction in 1995 both from the University of Surrey in UK. He holds several patents in mobile communications and has published over 45 technical papers and articles in this field in refereed international journals and conferences, as well as in magazines.

Jimmy WingChung Chow

Marketing Expert, Market Department of Core Network Product Line, Huawei Technologies

Jimmy Chow has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 15 years, including R&D and marketing  positions at several major companies. At Huawei he is one of the marketing experts in its core network product line, with a focus on mobile core network technical marketing and high-end markets business development. In recent years, he has he shared his experience of core network evolution and solutions with many Tier 1 operators.

Jimmy Chow holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Telecom Sciences from Chunqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China.

Kevin P. Jones

Global 4G Evangelist, Intel Corporation

Kevin Jones currently holds the position of Global 4G Evangelist at Intel Corporation. In this role, he leads Intel’s efforts to communicate the 4G value proposition to service providers around the world.

Previously, he was the Director of European Business Development at Intel Capital, one of the largest corporate venture programs in the world.

Prior to Intel, Kevin held a range of marketing, sales, business development and engineering positions at major technology companies and early stage ventures.

Kevin holds degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from California State University.

Lars Johnsson

Vice President Marketing & Business Development, Beceem Communications

Lars Johnsson is Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Beceem Communications, where he is responsible for product marketing and management, ecosystem partnerships, program management, business development and marketing communications. Prior to Beceem, Johnsson co-founded Flarion Technologies, the pioneer of OFDMA-based mobile broadband technology. At Flarion, which he helped spin out off Lucent Bell Labs, he was responsible for technology marketing, the product roadmap and the business model until the company was acquired by Qualcomm. Previously, he worked in Lucent's New Ventures Group driving wireless startup activities.

Lars holds a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering.

Liu Taijiang

Chief Engineer of LTE Strategy & Solution, ZTE Corporation

Liu Taijiang is in charge of ZTE Corporation’s LTE Strategy and Solution division and is engaged in solution-sharing and discussions with operators. Starting in 2004, he was focused on strategic and key technology research into 3G evolution. Previously, he engaged in R&D of UMTS for five years.

Lu XiaoFeng

Director of Mobile Network Sales Support, Huawei Technologies

Lu XiaoFeng is responsible for market strategy and go-to-market in the Wireless Network Solution Sales Department.

From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Lu XiaoFeng was the director of GSM technical Sales in Huawei. Prior to that, he was the Director of Mobile Network Technical Sales of Huawei MENA region for five years.

Lu XiaoFeng holds a Bachelor's degree from Southeast University, People's Republic of China.

Manuel Vexler

Chief Marketing Officer IMS/NGN, Huawei Technologies

Manuel Vexler is the Chief Marketing Officer for IMS and NGN at Huawei Technologies. Having been recognized as one of the Top 100 Voices of IP Communications, Vexler has established himself as a leading international expert on converged networks, NGN and IMS. As the current Vice President and Chair of the Technical Working Group at the IMS/NGN Forum, an international mobile and fixed broadband services forum, he manages all technical and business development activities for the forum.

Prior to joining Huawei, Vexler was Chief Technologist Officer at CopperCom, a softswitch company, and managing partner of Integra100, a business and technology consultancy for post-merger integration. Vexler has held various management and executive positions at Cisco Systems, AMD, Newbridge (now Alcatel-Lucent) and Nortel. As co-founder of, and advisor to, high-tech start-ups and consultancies, Vexler has experience in a wide range of technologies and markets, managed non-profits, cofounded and managed three start-up companies, and has presented at more than 100 conferences worldwide.

Vexler earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the University of Iasi, a network engineering and management certificate from the University of Toronto, and an executive marketing certificate from Queen's University.

Mario Bouchard

President and CEO, iBwave Solutions

Mario Bouchard, President and CEO of iBwave Solutions, has been in telecommunications for the past 20 years. As a senior expert of the in-building wireless industry, Mr. Bouchard has worked in complex indoor environments.

He has been the leading creator of many of iBwave’s flagship products. Prior to joining iBwave Solutions, Mr. Bouchard spent 14 years in key leadership roles developing and expanding in-building initiatives at Bell Canada and TELUS Mobility. Among his greatest achievements, Mr. Bouchard completed the Montreal Underground City project by designing and planning multi-technology indoor networks on 32 kilometers of underground path.

Mark Rice

General Manager, Americas, Altair Semiconductor

With more than 25 years in semiconductor system sales and marketing, Mark Rice has established himself as a leader in sales and marketing in the Americas, Europe and Asia. 

Mr. Rice joined Altair Semiconductor as a Vice President and General Manager of the Americas.  Prior to Altair, he was located in Taiwan as Director, Asia Business Development for DSP systems with Texas Instruments.  Texas Instruments granted Mark the "2008 Award for Excellence in Asia ASP Customer Satisfaction," recognizing his prowess in cross-cultural business development and support.

Mark has a BS in Economics and Finance from University of Texas at Dallas.

Raj Singh

President and CEO, Wavesat

Raj Singh has more than 25 years of international business experience and joined Wavesat in January 2008 from MoSys, a provider of high-density system-on-chip (SoC) embedded memory solutions, where he was VP of Marketing and Business Development. Prior to that, he was Executive VP Worldwide Sales of Virage Logic for three years and led the company to significant revenue growth.  Before joining Virage Logic, Mr. Singh was a founder, Executive VP and General Manager at 3Dlabs until its acquisition by Creative Technology in 2002. He also played a major role in its IPO and acquisitions of Dynamic Pictures and Intense3D.

Remus Tan

Market Development Manager, Mobile Network Solutions, Tellabs Asia-Pacific

Remus Tan is the Market Development Manager for Mobile Network Solutions in Tellabs. In this role, he is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for mobile network transport and mobile network core gateway solutions with Tellabs new and existing products portfolio.  Remus is also responsible for Tellabs Mobile Internet strategy development for Tellabs in the APAC market.  Remus has more than 10 years of telecommunication industry experience.  Prior to Tellabs, Remus was the Director of Business Devlopment & Sales in Axerra Networks.

Sami Jokinen

Senior Technology Marketing Manager, LTE, Nokia Devices R&D

Having served Nokia since 1989 in various R&D and management positions, Sami Jokinen is currently responsible for leading the wireless technology strategy and roadmap discussions with mobile operators. His current focus is on the commercial introduction of LTE.

His experience is mainly in the standardization and development of cellular technologies, on both the network and device sides. Sami holds a M.Sc. in digital communications from Oulu University and is the sole or co-inventor in three patent families.

Sean Corey

IP Counsel, Sisvel US

Sisvel US IP Counsel Sean Corey manages various licensing activities for the company, including development of licensing strategy and negotiation of license agreements in patent pools and bilateral licensing programs, based on technologies including MPEG Audio, RFID, CDMA2000 and other telecommunications standards, and DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting).  He also manages patent litigation in coordination with outside counsel.

Prior to joining Sisvel US, Mr. Corey was with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. 

Mr. Corey holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law School, and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross.

Song Lingyang

Full Professor, Peking University, China

Song Lingyang received a B.S. degree from Jilin University, China in 2002 and a PhD from the University of York, UK, in 2007. From Dec. 2006 to Mar. 2008, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oslo, Norway. In Mar. 2009, he started working as a full professor at Peking University, China. He is co-inventor of a number of patents and author or co-author of over 80 journal and conference papers.

Tim Fowler

Commercial Director, Wireless Division, Cambridge Consultants

Tim has extensive technical and commercial experience within the wireless industry. He is a Commercial Director in Cambridge Consultants’ Wireless Division. He is responsible for market and business development of wireless projects within Cambridge Consultants. He runs all the firm’s broadband wireless activities. He has also had overall responsibility for program management for a number of large wireless development projects that have included technologies the short-range Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to wide-area systems such as WiMAX, WCDMA and LTE. Tim also took responsibility for management of Cambridge Consultants Bluetooth business.

He has been a speaker at numerous conferences on the subject of broadband wireless technology evolution.

Yaki Sfadya

Associate Vice President of New Market Opportunities, ECI Telecom Ltd.

Yaki Sfadya has more than 24 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, focusing on broadband access networks, applications and solutions. Prior to joining ECI, he served as marketing executive for a company developing broadband system-on-chip products. Previously, held the position of VP & GM of Mobile-Flash, an M-Systems business unit, providing solutions for mobile service providers.

Yaki holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Ben Gurion University.
